This Weekend saw the first edition of the Taste Islay and Jura Food and Foraging Festival. Saturday 21st of September, the official start of the autumn, saw a traditional market to Islay located in Bowmore Square and The Harbour Inn. The local market had food and drink producers from Islay, Jura and wider Argyll. In the square, shoppers could buy local meats, vegetables, herbs, cheeses, preserves, coffee, seafood and lots more!
The atmosphere was great and the weather was glorious. Warm sunshine and blue skies greeted plenty of happy locals and visitors who enjoyed everything Islay has to offer. The marketing group did a great job and hopefully this will turn out to become a new annual event on Islay. Below are some impressions of the market in Bowmore Square and the Harbour Inn.
